I wouldn’t be “Fed-Up” if I didn’t bitch about something every once in a while. I have been following this post on Buffalo Pundit’s blog all day & left two comments so far.
BP: “is that Tom Bauerle and Sandy Beach are the brunt of a lot of criticism on blogs such as mine, and WBEN doesn’t want to open its airwaves up to people who don’t like Tom & Sandy.â€
FUiB: Oh, boo-hoo. Cry me a river Tom & Sandy.
You can’t have you cake & eat it too. If they don’t want to be criticized they shouldn’t be on the radio. Now Kevin Hardwick’s show has to suffer because of the Beach & Baurle babies. My grammy used to always say… If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
After reading more comments that came in honoring Buffalo Pundit’s control of the situation I wrote this:
I have to agree with all the other comments the way the “know nothings†have handled this. I still can’t help myself but to scream Censorship at the top of my voice because that is what has happened. We [bloggers] have been cut off for crimping “their†style of how they want people to think. I don’t like the idea that Kevin Hardwick has limit his guests because Beach & Bauerle aren’t happy with people [listeners] using their own voices & making up their own minds. Buffalo Pundit, your post handles things well. Or atleast better than the stink I would make if it were me being shut up of WBEN.
Good Job guys.
I was never a guest on Hardline with Hardwick. I never called in for any reason, but I have been known to set my alarm for a Sunday morning to not miss a show. When you get the group known as the “Know nothings” together it’s easy to learn they know everything. When I listened to Hardwick’s show for the first time I didn’t think I was listening in on WBEN because of the way callers were permitted to speak so freely. How many times has a caller been cut off by Beach or Bauerle in any given month? 1? 2? 10?
After reading & thinking, I drew a conclusion: Tim Wenger [ala Beach & Bauerle] pulled the plug on Hardwick’s [special] guest bloggers because he is afraid to learn there is more to WNY than the same old [tired & lame] ultra conservativeness & rants.
Two words: Fear this!
You can take bloggers off the radio, you can hang up on “difference of opinion calls” but in no way, shape or form will you be able to shut bloggers up from our opinions.
Ah. I feel better now.
