Be careful what you wish for…

Sometimes I feel like I have a little republican running through my veins. This is not one of those times. I read something written on Albany’s Insanity:

So far the list does not look very promising.. It appears politics will play a big roll. I would much rather see a special election.

Wouldn’t a special election make it more political though? By experience, not all votes are the right decisions, look at what happened with Joel Giambra & the non-existing tax revolt. Let’s not forget George [get out of jail free card carrying member] Holt. I would have no resentment for a Comptroller appointed from his [or her] educational experience. Do you want someone in office who was put there by political nettling & ignorance? We might might be be better off keeping [sticky fingers] Hevesi in there because [minus the stealing] he was good at figuring New York State finances. Putting it to the vote of the people, it opens banter to the same ole campaigning rhetoric from those who listen to FOX News fighting against people who counter a candidate they like. I love America. I love its freedom to choose. Sometimes choice isn’t what’s right when it comes to the positive direction we want to see NYS pointing in.

I found a few great Benjamin Franklin quotes to go along with this post:

  • What’s given shines, What’s receiv’d is rusty.
  • Well done is better than well said.
  • Many have quarrel’d about Religion, that never practis’d it.
  • Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.
  • in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.

It looks like we’re going to be in for some pretty bad weather.
