I really do love Buffalo

I’m going to the happy to be here [Buffalo Old Home Week] event next week Wednesday to celebrate my life as a Buffalonian. Props: All things Jennifer makes all things fun.

Random Thoughts 101 reminds us of what happened 30 years ago. I was a little girl back then but I remember so much. I knew then that I was living in the best city in the world. When I was at work tonight I thought about the Buffalo things I’d post when I get home & settled in. Damn! It’s cold out there! That is the first thing. From January 1977 to October 2006 & today, our weather always makes headlines across the country. Headlines that always remind us we’re the city of good neighbors. To be a true Buffalonian you can never tire from saying that when talking about our weather. It wasn’t very busy at work. It was enough for conversation with people though. That’s the second thing: The people of Buffalo. If you get to know someone, you can talk like old friends. We know how to come together for each other.

Food! The food in Buffalo is the best. Everyone has a great burger joint, pasta place, wing thing. Subs are just subs unless you come from Buffalo. We have our own favorite shops for them too. The taste of Buffalo & the Chicken Wing Festival, 2 events that bring thousands of people downtown every summer. I have a relative who comes back to visit & has beef on weck twice a year right here in Buffalo.

July 4, 2004Main Street is dull now but wait until Thursday in the Square comes! Music to fill the evening air. Let’s not forget Buffalo’s own Goo Goo Dolls who made a DVD in the pouring rain. We come out in the winter too. The Buffalo Sabres are hot this year. I was at the last [a sell out] game of 2006. The Arena was full of blue & gold. Old jerseys, new jerseys. New players on the team, old players on the team. It doesn’t matter what you wear as long as you wear it proud.

Me? You know who I cheer for ;) because I can’t decide between the two:

Buffalo to me is more than a place to live, it’s my way of life. [Politics aside] I really do love Buffalo. No telling where the “Fed-Up” came from though. At least not yet ;)
