I read something Jennifer wrote today:
PLEASE. THIS IS WESTERN NEW YORK. Thank you for the *warning* but is it REALLY NECESSARY for employees to call into work for the night shift preemptively? Really? Is it really necessary to cancel meetings for tomorrow? Luncheons? (More likely since people are already FREAKING OUT BEFORE IT EVEN FUCKING SNOWS A DAMN SNOWFLAKE!)
I thought… maybe she’s right. This is Buffalo & we have lived through it before. That is, until I took a walk to the store earlier. No sooner did I reach my driveway & it felt like needles were piercing my face. Wind chills in the negatives is not my idea of enjoying winter in Buffalo [I am “fedup” after all]. I still think Jennifer might be right. I am adding a new category… “It’s Buffalo… Deal with it”. Props to All things Jennifer.
I’m still going to tell my readers that right now [9:41pm Tuesday] it’s snowing & blowing in Buffalo & DAMN it’s cold out there!
If you don’t have to go out: stay home & curl up with a mate, a good movie, the internet, or a good book. If you have to be out [to my cop friend]: stay safe, don’t stay outside very long, dress in layers & cover any exposed skin to prevent frost bite.
