It’s Monday & Rus Thompson is going looooove me for this post.
I have been thinking over how I am going to respond:
I find all discussion of Hillary’s problems to be superficial. Is she “embarrassed†by Bill, etc. Don’t be fooled, all these topics are designed to generate sympathy and divert from her own problems
It seems pretty amazing how she can just issue these sweeping orders - and the media and any democratic opponent just falls in line and obeys? Hardly… It’s going to be kind of difficult to keep Monica, Etc. quiet, given that, by a stroke of timing, next January will be the 10th Anniversary of everything breaking - so there will be a lot of talk about it, right in the middle of her campaign, whether Hillary likes it or not.
She’s already started using the “politics of personal destructionâ€, to defend any questions on character…
I think Rus Thompson was getting close to being right about one thing. The media. They are excellent at creating diversion in the news. We see it on the news, we talk about it at home or at work & with friends. Suddenly everyone cares about Uncle Bill’s “encounters” in the Oval Office again just because Hillary Clinton is running for President of the United States. Suddenly no one is talking about the issues. I pride myself on being a voter of issues, not campaign slander & dirty politics from the other side. I want to hear what a Presidental candidate can do for the people of New York State, to make it better for us in this fucked up state we call home, not the “Inside Edition” version [of dirt & vicious rumors] we call “news”.
I think the Hillary haters cometh because they are intimidated by a woman being the leader of the free world.
When I was a little girl I can’t remember [ever] hearing about a woman taking an oath of office. Today it looks like women in power are the norm & old-school political oriented men feel a little threatened by it. My children are hearing it different than when I was their age. They are talking about America may have its first women President. So, the politcal pundits on the other side have nothing else to do but to bring up Uncle Bill getting his groove on with Monica because his wife is now a candidate for President. They haven’t anything else to use in the media in diverting the public’s opinion from the real issues in America. That is what Hillary wants to talk about.

I am a Hillary fan myself unless Al Gore decides to run…Hillary has bigger balls than most men so of course she intimidates:)
Nope, gender is nothing to do with it.
“Hillary haters” are no more opposed to a female president than “Bush haters” are opposed to a male president.
Margaret Thatcher was a great prime minister and if a female of her quality were running for president she’d be strongly supported by many “Hillary haters”.
Nice try though.
p.s.
Is David Geffen opposing Hillary because she’s female or does he have other reasons? Discuss.
In the months ahead Hillary will be the most sought after in character attacks.
I used to like Hillary but I am now not so sure? I think she may be in on the whole “Project for a New American Century†think tank issue, and has sold out. I now back Obama and Edwards.
If we only had a Margret Thatcher, I would campaign for her in a heartbeat.
Hillary… either love her or hate her. There is no inbetween. She wouldn’t get my vote if she was the only one on the ballot.
I cannot tolerate her and her policies. When will anyone in the media ever have a chance to ask her any tough questions? They won’t, even today she was shoveled off with out being asked any real questions. The woman runs on soundbytes and lies.
“I think the Hillary haters cometh because they are intimidated by a woman being the leader of the free world.”
I think you put the smiley face in there knowing that this statement is dead wrong.
-Sayeth a Hillary disliker who grew up thinking she was going to be the leader of the free world, until she realized she was not born into money.
Yikes Jennifer!
As I’ve said before, Hillary is a Utopian socialist who does not value liberty and freedom. As far as I’m concerned, there is no difference between Hillary, Obama and Al Gore. They all have their views of what society should be like and want to spend your money to accomplish their vision. For the record, most Republicans are no better. I will be campaigning for Ron Paul for president. Tune in to CNN on April 4 to watch him in a debate among candidates.
My problem is with the Clinton family and with the Bush family. Both of these families have led our country in the wrong direction via perception management for the wealthy classes and corporations.
The Clinton family is responsible for the global trade shifting of our manufacturing jobs to communist China. China is a country that has no environmental protection, labor unions, workers rights laws, ect. The U.S. worker cannot compete against political slave laborors and a country of over a billion people. If we allow our entire manufacturing base to be shifted to China we will have a more flattened world but history has proven one thing and that is those who fail to learn by history are doomed to repeat history. If we no longer produce the goods that we consume than the United States will be in danger of being flattened as a government. How does a government secure production in foreign countries during times of warfare and survive? I myself would like to think that maybe this world could get along but I read daily about what is going on in Darfur and have lived since the fifties to see constant warfare in my lifetime. Computers and the global market has not replaced the lost jobs in the inner city of America where current hopeless has become inculcated into a growing urban population. President Clinton and Bush rubber stamped manufacturing jobs being sent to China.
President George Bush got us into a wrongful and unjust war in Iraq and Hillary Clinton is responsible for rubber stamping that wrongful war with her vote.
Bush failed to sign the Keyoto Agreement and used perception management and pay offs to hire science mouth pieces to refute the preponderance of global opinion in the scientific and political community of this planet.
Now last week Senator Hillary Clinton is telling the people of Western New York at the Huntley Power Plant that she is bringing federal dollars into our community for a cleaner coal burning technology. The big problem is this. At this moment we know that carbon from coal buring is causing the earth to warm at an excellerated rate and that it contributes to acid raid in the Adirondacks, causes pollution problems in Toronto, Ontario and cause respiratory disease and further contributes towards deaths of people with chonic respiratory diseases down wind of it’s smoke stacks.
This week the head of the Huntley Plant said that this new technology (that Hillary Clinton was using for her campaign stumping) would probably work. That does not mean that this unknown technology has been proven to work but that it might work and not that it has been proven to work.
Therefore the new unknown technology to be constructed at the Huntley Power Plant is a research project that is being conducted on a massive scale in the eastern section of the United States and Canada. North America is the proving ground and it’s citizens are the test subjects.
Are we in WNY and America to believe another perception management spin that coal plants that are a major source of global warming now can be made clean burning? Was this logic created by the coal companies of America like the War in Iraq logic was created by the big oil companies, like the logic that smoking is healthy once was bandied about by tobacco companies and the U.S. media?
All this might seam off topic but the heart of the matter is that we as Americans should not be voting for elected officials by gender or race but for the content of their character.
Character is not something that is found by appeasement to corporate power and money and in the fabrication of the truth.
At this moment this white man sees Obama being the one candidate of veracity and determination beyond Clinton, Guiliani, and Gore.
Obama voted against the wrongful war in Iraq. That is better than going along with the flow of perception management or double plus media entertainment/Jerry Springer, or corporate speak via Rush, WBEN, FOX, Buffalo News.
