Kenseth’s 4th NBS @ Cali & more

I don’t follow the Busch series like I do with the Nextel Cup but I like Matt Kenseth.

Kenseth wins his fourth NBS race at California
It was another dominant night for Roush Fenway Racing at the California Speedway. For the 12th time at the track, Jack Roush made his way to Victory Lane. And for the fourth time in the Busch Series, it was due to Matt Kenseth as he took the checkered-flag at the Stater Bros. 300.

Kenseth, along with Jeff Burton had the dominant cars of the day, leading 94 of the 150 laps, but Kenseth took the lead from Burton on Lap 128 and never looked back.

Casey Mears made the race interesting in the closing laps. In the final 15 laps, Mears had the fastest car on the track and started gaining on Kenseth. Mears ran out of time though, and had to settle for a second-place finish.

While you were out

I was at the store when all hell broke loose at the Sabres game. Crap! My man called me on my cell to let me know Drury took a bad hit, the goalies traded a few punches & there was a near-bench clearing when Lindy Ruff & the Senators’ coach traded a few [choice] words.

Updated: I was home to see the rest of the second & third period, over time & a great shootout! ;)

Update: This is what I missed while I was out:

How much should accountability cost?

I looked at the appropriations in the City of Buffalo’s adopted budget:

5 things about me: food edition

I seen other bloggers doing this. I thought I’d try a “food for thought” edition:

1. I love eating fried egg sandwiches [with cheese & mayo].
2. I love salads [egg salad, macaroni salad, chef salad].
3. I don’t eat sweets anymore. It’s been years since I ate chocolate.
4. I can make our secret family recipe barbaque hamburgers [with all the “stuff” in it] just like my mom.
5. I have to have tomato soup with my grilled cheese for dipping & dunking.

A call for fresh faces turns out old names for Erie County.

Albany’s Insanity has become part of my everyday blog reading. I read his “none of the above” post:

• Paul T. Clark ~ My opinion the only Dem that stands a chance at this point. He will have to run on his record.
• James P. Keane ~ I can hear his campaign now, during the Gorski administration we did…. we need to stop living in the past and look to the future.
• Daniel J. Ward ~ Again? Ward hasn’t a clue and just has sound bytes for his campaign as last time he ran. Don’t ask for specifics, he has none.
• Lynn M. Marinelli ~ If we are looking for the queen of spin here’s the woman for you. She can talk all the way around a question and not answer the question.
• James D. Griffin ~ I Love Jimmy, tells it like it is point blank but is he electable as CE? I don’t think so.
• William A. O’Loughlin ~ I used to like Bill alot as a talk show host, he has great ideas on financials, knows how to handle money and investments but that’s where it stops. He has worked against reformer Satish and his threats toward others is disgusting. If you want to see him and Ward in action just watch the Amherst Town Board meetings on Adelphia.

Henry J. Nowak, A judge? No I don’t think so.
County Comptroller Mark C. Poloncarz, so far I like Polancarz in his current position although he needs to speak out more on the continued waste in County Government. How many more jobs are we paying for this year over last year and the year before?
Interim County Clerk Kathleen C. Hochul. Seems right now Lenihan really like her, he is pushing for her to take the permanent role as County Clerk. If Lenihan is pushing anyone I am very skeptical. Word has it Lenihan wants her and Spitzer wants Kevin Gaughn for County Clerk. Lenihan and Hoyt just Love to control things and I don’t trust either one of them. It was them that gave us this current class of supposed reform minded legislators. We won’t get fooled again.

Marsha S. Henderson. I have no idea who she is, so no comment.

Here’s where it started & Here’s my take:

Paul T. Clark: If he campaigns as a fresh face for Erie County it will be a good chance for others in West Seneca to move up.

James P. Keane: I am getting mixed reviews on him. So no comment [yet].

Daniel J. Ward: [agreed] Again?

Lynn M. Marinelli: She has been primed as a perfect politician. [agreed] She is the queen of spin. [I liked that Rus ;)]

James D. Griffin: Didn’t he quit on the people in South Buffalo? I have a friend who called him “the ghost of 6-pack past”. ;)

William A. O’Loughlin: I don’t know a lot about him. So no comment.

Henry J. Nowak: He should stay a judge. Working with Michele Johnson & house flipping. He’s needed more where he is.

Mark C. Poloncarz: I also like him in his current position [agreed] “he needs to speak out more on the continued waste in County Government.”

Interim County Clerk Kathleen C. Hochul: Who? I never heard the name before. So no comment.

Marsha S. Henderson: See Interim County Clerk above.

Most of these names are old news & know how to play a game with politics. Agreed: none of the above. If we want a fresh face, how about Rus Thompson for County Executive? ;) There’s one republican I might vote for.

6 new additions

I added 6 new movies to my DVD library.

Take your pick. My girl still makes me cry. Made in America always makes me laugh. ;)

A lazy blogger

I am so bad. I didn’t blog a thing all day. After a busy work day yesterday & little ones here this morning. I am just being lazy. ;)

Calling all political pundits
