I’m so ready for Martinsville now

Play the YouTube video to get into the mood ;)

Turn up the volume. Ozzy’s playing. The footage is dated but it’s Martinsville ;)

Mayhem always expected @ Martinsville

Some races you only read about. Short track racing is an exception to the rule though. It’s “in your face” & a must see for all fans. To know Martinsville is to expect mayhem [& on April fool’s day no less].

Hamlin bumps McMurray and Gordon to win pole
Schrader qualifies fourth; Vickers, Waltrip going home

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Denny Hamlin bounced back from a difficult 14th-place run at Bristol last week by winning the pole at Martinsville Speedway on Friday.

Hamlin, who was left with a pounding headache and feeling sick by a combination of carbon monoxide and hot temperatures in the first Car of Tomorrow race last Sunday, put his Joe Gibbs Racing Chevrolet Impala on the point in the second consecutive COT race.

Hamlin’s lap at 95.103 mph knocked Jeff Gordon off the top spot early in the qualifying session on NASCAR’s smallest, tightest track, and Jamie McMurray later knocked Gordon out off the front row with a lap at 94.955 mph in a Ford Fusion.

Gordon, the series points leader and a seven-time winner on the .526-mile oval, was seeking his seventh career pole here, but settled for the inside of the second row.

10 stress-free tips

I’m following Jennifer’s lead on this one.

10 Secrets to a Stress Free Life by Kathleen Hall

1. Start Small.
Who? me? I get big ideas that don’t always work out as planned & get pissed when it doesn’t go right [OK. something for me to work on].

2. Connect.
I’m good at that.

3. Focus on now.
Is there any better time than now? ;)

4. Write it out.
I really do hold back on my blog, don’t I?

5. Own the news.
I have so many people talk to me about “current events” by the time it comes to blogging about it, I’m all talked-out.

6. Walk softly.
It’s OK sometimes. Other times you really do have to make your presence known.

7. Try a mini meditation.
Does blasting your fave Poison songs through your headphones count as [tuning everything else out] meditation?

8. Love your commute.
I live 3 blocks from where I work. Rain, shine, sleet, snow. I love my walk to work. Walking to work is sometimes my only “mini meditation” ;)

9. Take stock.
In what?

10. Practice gratitude.
Always. [Those who know me best] I tend to appreciate everyone else first. I am first to thank everyone for everything else.

Updated: I reread this list of ways to free your life of stress & thought it might have been a “single woman” who wrote these ideas. I would like to add: One stress-free thing I know of is dropping the kids off with grandma & enjoying some much-needed time with your man ;)

Light blogging & guest blogger fill in

Hi there everyone. I got a great opportunity to pick up extra hours at work. I can really use the extra money so I’m going to take it. It also means I will be away from my blog. In the mean time I called on the greatest guest blogger around to help fill in for me. Known for great commentary on Buffalo Geek, Pauldub has the honor of being “Fed-Up” for a change.

I’ll still handle my NASCAR postings though ;)

Welcome Paul, have fun & thank you very much.

I too nominate Michele Johnson

I read it here first.

Sounds like a good idea. I nominate Michele Johnson for that position. Her tireless, uncompensated work as a housing court liaison with City Judge Hank Nowak, together with her leadership role in the fight against flipping and MBBA inaction make her an ideal candidate.

My turn to sound off on it. The City of Buffalo has known no greater ally in housing issues than Michele Johnson. Taking her flipped movie to two major cities to help with housing problems in other states, she knows the job & the people to contact. Buffalo would make a huge mistake if they pass up a candidate like Michele Johnson. Her name is synonymous with Buffalo housing.

Michele says:

This would be my dream job…Im asking everyone to please spread the word that I would like this position..maybe if we saturate the internet someone will listen…Thank you to Buffalo pundit. www.buffalopundit.wnymedia.net for his nomination

So Bloggers everywhere take a few minutes to shine on Michele Johnson.

Live with Left2

I tuned in at noon & listened to Left2. It sounds like another great show on WNYM Radio.

Dyngus Day… Passing this along

Props to Chistopher Byrd at BFA. I saw this on the home page of WNYmedia.net & wanted to pass it along:

Yes. Dyngus Day is a holiday ;) Call it the Polish in me

Radio from a Broad

I’m loving this live radio. ;) I was so happy to get through to Michele Johnson’s radio show. I swear I’m a lot older than how I sounded as a call in. If you missed the show & catch it on podcast, I sound a little kid. ;) Michele & I have a lot in common… teenagers.

I laughed about her obsession with Sharpie markers. ;) I love the new spring colors too.

Thanks Michele for the shout out on my NASCAR passion. ;) That was cool.

WNYM Radio live … I’m online with it now

I was having a hard time listening to WNYM Radio [live] in the past. I would always have to wait for the podcasts to be posted. I downloaded something [don’t ask me what it was] Right now I am listening to Tom Christy on Confer with Bob Confer. This is so cool. The sound quality is great ;) I swear, I could listen to Tom Christy talk all day long. He’s smart, funny & the best guest idea for internet radio. ;) I hardly miss his cable show.
