The Buffalo News has an article citing the US Census, preaching a high poverty level.
I’m just going to shoot-from-the-hip my reasons why I think Buffalo made second on the list.
*NO GOOD JOBS (paying above minimum wage)
*POLITICIANS (who only talk about bringing good paying jobs)
*Cost of living (raising higher than minimum wage can support)
*Massive utility rates (Niagara Falls is right in our back yard and ½ our bill goes towards “user rates”)
*Absentee landlords (property owners from out of state invest in property but not caring of the property in this community)
*Poor education advantages.
Feel free to add more of your own thoughts why Buffalo is the second poorest city in the US.

Too much government, taking too much money that prevents too many jobs from being created. Instead, we’ve become a society dependent on government.
Too many government plans to “buy” corporations into our economy vs. helping the struggling business trying to stick it out here. (offering millions to bass pro while mom & pop stores close day by day.)
Amen!
We need to develope the innercity businesses this cultural population can use and need the help with capital investments, to finance black owned businesses that will help to create more jobs for those who are the ones who are mostly unemployed in WNY.
When I came here, almost two year ago, I was surprised for the price of everything specially food and the rate of taxes. But man Buffulonians are so nice, they smile, and talk to you even if they don’t know you. It’s a shame. Having UB in Buffalo, had kept some economic activity that otherwise would be non-existent.
Don’t worry guys - when I come back, I’m going to change everything.
