May 25th, 2008 — Buffalo, about me, fun stuff, sports
Today I played my first golfing game. It’s been said “you have to start somewhere” and I begin…. 89 over par on a 9-hole, 36 par course.
I had an “old-timer” say he’s going to skip a hole I was beginning.
I had some great shots, though few & far between. On the brighter side, I never lost my ball (even if it landed at the start of the next hole …oops), twice I was able to chip the ball over a creek to the fairway (just outside of the green… but putting ended badly), and my highlight was the 3rd hole … it was a 3 par and I made it in 6 shots, that was one hole over the creek.

Did you know that the Sabres have a new Jumbo-tron at the Arena? I didn’t know.
Here are some awesome pictures from the 300 level of last night’s game in downtown Buffalo.

My man loved that the Bills won today, more so to pick on my sweet, little, innocent Jet’s Bear.

Look at how sad she looks….

I am going to have to watch my cute little Jets Bear a lot closer today.

September 16th, 2007 — opinion post, sports
I know I haven’t been blogging much the past few days. I’ve been a busy bee, you could say.
I do want to say this though, while it is sad to hear what happened to the Buffalo Bills player who was injured, but does it have to be the dominating story on every news telecasts (all channels) morning, noon and night? As if there isn’t any other news to report.
I might be a little biased in saying that because I’m not much of a football fan, but it’s common knowledge that when you play a rough contact sport like football there is a huge chance for all kinds of injuries. I’m sorry to say, I’m not as “emotional distraught” as all the news stations are cramming down our throats on every news cast they put on air.
July 3rd, 2007 — Movies, about me, sports
I finally found this movie on DVD. I am a fan of Kevin Costner and this is one of the best romantic dramas ever made. The best part of the movie is at the end when Jane reaches for Billy’s hand as he’s walking away.

Edwards wins at Michigan ending 52-race drought
Truex Jr., Earnhardt Jr. in top five; Waltrip finishes 10th
BROOKLYN, Mich. — Carl Edwards snapped a 52-race Nextel Cup winless streak Sunday by holding off Martin Truex Jr. at Michigan International Speedway.
“Is it really over?” Edwards excitedly asked his crew as he closed in on the finish line.
It was, as Edwards handily beat Truex to the line to grab his first win since Nov. 11, 2005, at Texas. He celebrated his fifth career Nextel Cup win with his trademark backflip off the window ledge of his car.
He then gleefully took a pair of scissors to team member Tom Giacchi’s shaggy beard, clipping off a chunk of hair that had been growing since the two vowed in late 2005 that Giacchi wouldn’t shave until Edwards’ next win.
The victory gave car owner Jack Roush his second win of the season — first since Matt Kenseth won Feb. 25 at California — and temporarily snapped Hendrick Motorsports’ season-long domination. Hendrick cars have won 10 of the 15 races this season.

The bigger news though is this:
NASCAR sues AT&T for $100 million in countersuit
Also ask to kick Nextel competitors of out Cup Series
ATLANTA — NASCAR filed a $100 million counter claim against AT&T Inc. on Sunday, accusing the wireless provider of interfering with its exclusive sponsorship agreement with rival wireless company Nextel.
The suit also asks that NASCAR be granted the right to kick AT&T — and all telecommunications companies other than Nextel — out of its top series in 2008.
NASCAR filed the suit electronically in U.S. District Court in Atlanta, alleging breach of contract, fraud and misrepresentation, and conspiracy to aid and abet wrongful interference with Nextel.
NASCAR and AT&T have been battling all season over NASCAR’s refusal to allow AT&T to put its logos on Jeff Burton’s car. Burton and his Richard Childress Racing team have a sponsorship agreement with Cingular, which has since been purchased by AT&T.
AT&T is re-branding the company, but NASCAR would not allow the logos to be changed, citing its agreement with Nextel. Cingular and Alltel were grandfathered into the sport when Nextel entered in 2004, but no changes are permitted to their deals and no other telecommunications companies are allowed into the sport.
